His Holiness the Dalai Lama has offered his prayers for an early end to the floods in Queensland. In a message sent to Premier Anna Bligh on 5 January, His Holiness said that he had been saddened by the unprecedented floods in Queensland bringing destruction to property and widespread hardship to many people.

His Holiness wrote “I have admired your government’s preparedness and ability to respond to people’s needs during this crisis”.

“I am praying for no further loss of lives of those affected by the flood, speedy reconstruction of destroyed homes and an early end to the disaster,” the Dalai Lama said in comments to tibet.net. Read more
