State Branches consist of individual members who come together for regular meetings (usually once a month) to plan activities that generate awareness and funds.
Activities the Branches are involved in include:
- Stalls at markets and special events
- Organising film festivals
- Participating in National Office Campaigns (like the Fly the Flag Campaign)
- Involvement in Tibetan community events (Tibetan New Year and the Dalai Lama’s Birthday)
- Attending and organising demonstrations (for commemorations such as Tibetan Uprising Day on 10 March)
- Hosting dinners and talks that focus attention on the Tibetan cause
- Promotion of Trek for Tibet and Voice for Tibet at events
- Participate in the Tibet Uprising Day
The work of the active Branch members (who are all volunteers) is vital to the Australia Tibet Council.
