The QLD Branch of the Australia Tibet Council would like to invite you to the showing of ‘The Forbidden Team’ - a film which documents the struggle of exile Tibetans to form their own national football team, and organize their first international match.
It is a humorous uplifting documentary about a cultural clash, dreams coming true, and football, as Buddha would have played it!!

Time: 6.30pm for soup and rolls. 7.30pm film starts.

Synopsis
Produced by Balls Productions and Karim Stoumann and directed by Rasmus Dinesen and Arnold Kroigaard, the Forbidden Team is a film about the first ever Tibetan national football team and their first international match against Greenland. It is based on the actual events that occurred in the formation of the Tibetan National football association and is a story of a football team representing a nation wiped off the world map in 1949. |

The QLD Branch is holding a protest every Tuesday in August to ensure that Tibet remains at the forefront of peoples minds during the Olympics.
Come along and show solidarity for the Tibetans who are still suffering in Tibet and urge China to end the violence and work sincerely with the Dalai Lama towards a peaceful resolution. |
