August 8 2007 marks one year to the opening of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. As China prepares to celebrate, Tibet activists and human rights groups around the world are increasing the pressure on the Chinese government.
Yesterday six Tibet activists were detained in China after they unfurled a 450-square foot protest banner reading “One World, One Dream, Free Tibet 2008” in English and Chinese from the top of the Great Wall.
