Photos showing crackdown in Tibet were published on the Chinese language website Boxun.com on 2 December. According to Boxun, the photos were leaked and were taken in the Tibetan areas of Sichuan province. Kandze Autonomous Prefecture and Ngaba Autonomous Prefecture comprise the Tibetan area of Sichuan. However there is no information about the exact locations and dates of the photos.

UK-based Free Tibet has confirmed that photos 4,6 and 8 were taken in Ngaba, where nine of the twelve self-immolations have taken place this year.
