Kalon Kelsang Takla, who recently visited Australia, has extended the congratulations of the Central Tibetan Adminstration to president-elect Barack Obama. Mrs Takla expressed her hope that the United States will continue to strongly advocate for human rights and freedom under Mr Obama’s leadership.

Kelsang Takla, Kalon (Minister) for the Department of Information and International Relations, Central Tibetan Administration, has congratulated president-elect Barack Obama on his historic election as the 44th president of the United States.

In her congratulatory message, Mrs Takla expressed her wish that Mr Obama’s courage and wisdom will guide the United States to peace and prosperity.

Mrs Takla also expressed her hope that the United States will continue to strongly advocate for human rights and freedom and will continue to extend the same support for the people of Tibet under Mr Obama’s leadership.
