Since March, when the demonstrations and subsequent crackdown in Tibet began, we have seen a global outpouring of support for Tibet. This provides a strong opportunity to build the momentum towards a peaceful resolution of the issue.

This support, from the grass roots to the highest levels of international politics, is having an impact. China has resumed meetings with the Dalai Lama’s envoys. However, only through sustained public and political support will these talks result in a positive outcome for Tibet.

The ‘Tibet Tuesday’ project, led by our Victorian Branch, is a new initiative designed to keep the focus on Tibet over the crucial weeks ahead.
