Australia makes statements on human rights in Tibet at 61st UN Human Rights Council in Geneva
23 February – 31 March 2026: At the 61st session of the Human Rights Council's general debate segments, Australia made two statements which included concerns around human rights in Tibet.
Australia's item 2 statment read "Australia remains gravely concerned by human rights violations, including forced labour in Xinjiang and Tibet and the erosion of rights and freedoms in Hong Kong".
In their item 4 statement Australia said, Australia "remain gravely concerned by ongoing human rights violations against Uyghurs and Tibetans".
