Tibetan Uprising Day 2019 – 60 years of resistance

On 10 March, 2019, thousands took to the streets across the country, and many more around the world, to mark the 60th anniversary of Tibetan Uprising Day. Sixty years since Tibetans first rose up against China’s occupation of their homeland, the resistance remains as strong as ever. ATC thanks everyone who took part in rallies, showing their support for a free Tibet.

For the first time in over a decade, a local council in Australia flew the Tibetan national flag to show solidarity to the Tibetan struggle. Thank you to the Blue Mountains Greens councillor and ATC member Kerry Brown for making this happen, and to the local Tibetan community for their activism. This shows the power of our collective efforts.
